Biotechnology CSB-CSGRC
Biotechnology is a rapidly evolving field with significant potential to address many challenges in life science, food, medicine and Pharma to improve the quality and value of the life. Biotechnology has earnest impact on Agriculture and allied areas with newer techniques of Molecular marker Aided Selection and availability of robust markers made the genetic study more reasonable and accurate. It is emerged as a powerful tool in germplasm conservation, offering innovative solutions to preserve and utilize genetic resources. Ensure long-term sustainability and preservation of genetic resources, in the form of gene banks, cryopreservation of pollen / young bud/ tissue cultured plant material besides cryopreservation of semen/sperm/embryo of insects.
CSB-CSGRC, Hosur has well equipped state-of-art laboratory facility utilizes applied biotechnological techniques to characterize mulberry and silkworm genetic resources for sustainable conservation and utilization.
